I don't know why, but the concept has never really appealed to me. However, my girlfriend (a Newfoundlander herself) and I will be venturing out this summer---to Grand Falls to visit her family, and then to St. John's to...well...to get away from her family. LOL I've never been to NFLD before, and she's never needed to stay in a hotel in St. John's, as far as I know (she went to MUN, but obviously stayed in rez instead of a hotel...that'd just be silly), so any recommendations you might have would be great.
