About

Hello Newfoundland is created by me - Irene Duma. I’m a filmmaker, actor, comedian and web designer who moved to St. John’s from Toronto in the summer of 2008 - because I really really liked it here.

Hello Newfoundland will try and chronicle the story of my move, adventures, insights and encounters with the people I meet. Or something like that. This is a work in progress…final blog is to be determined.

No nepotism here at all. All my friends are worthy of big blog posts and love. And it’s easy to be my friend. Just buy me a beer or email me here to where you guys are playing, reading from your book, planing a cabinet, restoring a heritage home, making a violin, baking the perfect partridgeberry pie - or just want to talk to me about politics or philosophy or other “deep things.”

If I wrote about you and you don’t want me to use your name, let me know and I will take it down. But it’s better if I do use your name and link to your web site, or Flickr page, or something. Or, I can link to your site using the keywords for your site. That’s the best way to do it to get Google’s attention.

Same thing here. If you are linking to my site, it’s better if you use terms like Newfoundland Tourism, Newfoundland pictures, or places in Newfoundland.

If you don’t know what I am talking about, check out my web design company - Strange Duck Media’s blog where I write about internet marketing for small businesses and starving artists.

Or email me using the Contact link above.

Hint. See if you can spot the keywords in the above sentence ;)

Update - I was thinking this site is kind of like an Exhibit of Newfoundland if I were to curate one. Of course, the chances are unlikely because I hate the word curate. This coming from me - a Fine Art History grad. Just goes to show.
